Creepy Crawly In My Shower

Today I was visiting my friend Mimi and reading her True Story post. She had found a creepy crawly in the shower with her and to top it off, she was pregnant! Can you imagine finding a bug in the shower with you and having limited vision due to a BIG, PREGNANT BELLY?!!!!

Her story reminded me of a time when I found something taking a shower with me. I was just minding my own showering business when I look down and saw a LIZARD! It was just sitting there looking straight up at me with it's itty bitty eyes. There wasn't much I could do. I was right in the middle of my showering, with shampoo in my hair. I didn't want to spray water on him and cause him to run around in a frenzy. And there was NO way I was gonna stomp on him. EEEUUU!!! That would have been GROSS!!! All I could do was finish my shower. It seemed like the LONGEST, most CAUTIOUS shower I had ever taken. I felt so violated. But, to be honest, he seemed more scared of this 5ft tall giant than I was of him. Poor little guy. I started to get attached to him, but only for a moment. I finished my shower and OUT I WENT.

I thought about scooping him up with a newspaper, but then I got discouraged thinking he would panic and get loose in the house. So rescue had to wait until help arrived from work. When my husband finally made it home, I told him about the peeping lizard waiting to be rescued. He marched into the bathroom only to find nothing. The lizard was gone. "OH GOOD," I said. "He must have went right out from where he came."

A few days later, my husband was sweeping the bathroom and lo and behold, who did he discover under the shower mat? Yup, the little lizard. He had tried to make his escape and never made it out alive. Poor little lizard. :0(

Yuck, I would have sprayed him with water and hoped he would have gone down the drain.

EW, that would have scared the bajesus out of me! I maybe could have handle it maybe, but if it was a spider you better believe I would have been out of that shower in a flash!

I am just a little(a little) partial to lizards the geeko kind. When we lived in Texas we saw them quite a bit...but NOT IN THE SHOWER! That is a little to close for comfort for me too.

Yea, I read MiMi's post too! Left her a pretty funny comment. =0)

So anyways, back to YOUR thing. What is it with bugs or creepy crawleys in showers??

50% of the scorpions that I find are waiting for me when I go to take my bath at night. Seriously! But at least they're trapped in a tub and I'm not in it yet!!!

Heeby-jeebies!!! {{shiver}}

Whoa- you are a lot braver than I would be, I think I would've jumped out as soon as I'd see it, all the while screaming, grab a towel as fast as I could and let my husband deal with the little critter. Though, since I'm nearly blind while showering (no contacts, no glasses) who knows how many creepy crawlees have been bathing with me!
