Last night my husband and I experienced another milestone in our little guy's life. I was cooking dinner. The menu consisted of roasted red bell peppers stuffed with ground beef, broccoli and cheese couscous, and black beans with cilantro. But the one thing I didn't expect to be on the menu was a peanut butter sandwich made by two little hands.
Never did he ask me for help. As a matter of fact, I didn't even know he was THAT hungry. I usually have to beg him to eat. But last night I saw a glimpse of what I hope he'll become as a man - a man that feeds himself if he's hungry. That's a BEAUTIFUL thing!
As I was cleaning, I made a little discovery. All the times I've spent in the kitchen, I never realized I had a student observing me. What can we say? Sometimes you just can't wait for dinner to be served, no matter who's cooking. I didn't think I'd see this day come so soon, but we're so proud of him. He's one step closer to being all grown up.
