My B-Earth Day Giveaway

Two GREAT days are rapidly approaching and to celebrate, I'm sending some B-Earth Day love your way. What's all the commotion about?

Well, let me tell you.

Some of you may already know that I'm turning the BIG 3-0 in a few days, April 23rd to be exact, and I'm so excited! If you don't know why, you should click here. I'm not sure how I'll be celebrating but I DO know one thing for sure...I WILL BE CELEBRATING! And I won't have to do it alone. I'll have both my guys right here beside me to share my special day. That's all I really need to celebrate anyways. Maybe we'll go hang out at the beautiful nearby mountains for the day. Or, maybe we'll catch a good movie. No matter what our plans end up being, It's gonna be wonderful celebrating another year. To me, a birthday is not about the gifts wrapped in pretty papers or the bags stuffed full of tissue paper. It's a much GREATER gift that I look forward to and it's given to me by God. It's the gift of having another year with those whom I love.

What's the other occasion? Well, let me tell you. Tomorrow is Earth Day; and honestly, I haven't ever celebrated it before. But, since I've started my Scenic Sundays, I've come to realize that it's a day worth celebrating. The beauty of God's creation is always surrounding us and it's highly important for us to take the time to nurture and treasure it - today, tomorrow and always. Someone once said, "For the sake of our children, we need to leave this world better than how we entered it. So, let us all join together and leave a better, more beautiful world behind.

Now do you see what my cause for celebration is all about?

Are you still with me? I hope so, because now I'm getting to the really good part.
MY B-EARTH DAY GIVEAWAY!!

Here's what you gotta do:

Entry # 1: Let me know you're one of my Penless Pen Pals. And If you're not, join the club. I love meeting new bloggy friends.

Entry #2: In a separate comment, tell me what your birthday is. My goal is to have everyone embracing their special day; so, don't leave out the year. It's all part of the healing process for all of you who are anti-Birth Day people. Also in this comment tell me about a special past birthday memory you have or something you look forward to about an upcoming birthday.

Entry #3: In another separate comment, tell me how you are contributing or plan to contribute to our Planet Earth. It can be environmentally or spiritually. How has the world become a better place having you in it?

Entry #4: If you would like, post about my B-Earth Day Giveaway on your blog and help me spread the word.

Leave me the comments on this post ONLY. You've got one week (til April 28th) to enter, so don't hesitate. Let's celebrate!

THAT'S IT!
I hope I've left you inspired and I look forward to your responses.

For Earth Day this year I'm planning on doing the Vote Earth Hour thing & turn off all my lights & just do without! I know when I did for Vote Earth Hour on March 28th, I used 1/2 a kw as opposed to the hour before Earth Hour where I used 3 kw, which is quite a bit when it comes to your monthly electric bill! That can help save Earth & my pocket book, so why not do it? That's my opinion!

Thank you!

I agree that our birthdays are a gift from God! My birthday is October 1st, 1977. Um, my favorite birthday memory is probably my 21st birthday. It was my first birthday to spend with my husband and I really felt like an 'adult'. Ha!

We try to live as green as possible, BUT I know there is more we could do. Last year, we did switch all of our light bulbs over to energy efficient light bulbs. We recycle when we can.

My special day was yesterday! That's right April 20 1973 so that means I turned 36....
I try and spend my special day with friends and family...yesterday was spent at the ballpark (after school that is!) both boys had games and then to Culver's for some yummy ice cream!

And something that I do to save the planet is first off...RECYCLE! and I am really into using canvas bags for shopping (and everything else that I can possibly carry in them!) I heart my bags!

Hi Miti, I came from Tricia at The Bluff Area Daily. I also love to meet new blogging friends, so I added you to my list :)

I so agree to you that being with your beloved ones on your special day would be the most precious gift in the world. On last February 28th, my kids surprised me with a lovely own made drawing and poem dedicated to me. It was not less worth than the Netbook from my husband or should I say even better ;).

Raising awareness about our environment like Earth Day or Earth Hour is very important to me. We try to give our contribution in daily life. Hopefully this is one little step in a big picture. Let’s make a change! Reduce our footprints, reuse everything we can, and recycle to close the loop. Thank you. Have a great day :)

Happy Earth Day and birthday (well, one day early!)! It took me a second to figure out your title but once I got it...so clever!

Anyway, I'm a reader, a follower and I've got your button so I'm here to stay.

I am 35 (but for security reasons I'm going to keep the exact date private). I'm not anti-brithday, just a bit paranoid, I guess!

As for a special memory...I have a horrible memory so I can't remember hardly any specifics but I remember how special my mom made me feel on my birthdays as a kid. I remember these amazing flower pot cakes she made and the crafts she planned (beaded rings) for my birthday parties. My birthday is in the summer so we often went to a waterslide park for my party.

I'm pretty pleased to say that my family does a fair amount for the environment...but we can always do more.
Right now, we compost, use reusable bags and the kids take no-waste lunches to school.

I'm doing Earth Week posts all this week so feel free to stop by to hopefully get inspired.

I'm a total tree hugger. For me, everyday is Earth Day. This year, I focused on getting more of my family (husband & children) to be a bit more green. I think it's working!!!

HAPPY Bday Miti!!! I'll be 31 this year. I was totally fine with turning the big 3-0 last year! And, if nothing else, I know that DH is always gonna be older than me! He he he! I just love to spend time with loved ones on my bday. And, if I don't have to cook or clean that day, then it's a big bonus!!!

Through My Own Lens said...

I'm a little confused...what's the giveaway anyway?!?! Did I miss something?! LOL!

We recycle. I use reusable shopping bags. I wash clothes in cold water. We turn the heat way down at night and use a space heater in our rooms. When I worked (pre-baby) my DH and I carpooled. I wish I could walk EVERYWHERE like we did when we live in Paris (I was about 5-10 pounds skinnier then too - LOL!)! I also only shower every other day {gasp}...that's a habit that I also picked up living overseas!

I like your blog, it is funny and interesting. I am a follower, we are a Green family but I am one of those parnoid people who doesn't like to give their BD's out. I'll just say it was April around the 17th, I don't do well in giveaways anyway! But I do enjoy your blog so keep up the good work!

We recycle......My dad started us recycling way back when hardly anyone had a concept of it.........Back when we had to drive the stuff over ourselves......

And actually, I'm also looking into my own way of recycling by dabbling with making my own paper......
